The wicked king woke up and did not know what had woken him up and his ears hurt.
The little mouse now ran to the room of the wicked king’s son and she bit his ear as well.
That night the fairy did not let either the king nor his son sleep well. In terror, the king and his son ran from the palace and in the dark, they fell into the river and they were never heard off again.
After this, the fairy and the queen went to the dark dungeon where Delicia was locked up. There were forty locks that had to be unlocked to get the princess out. The fairy used her magic wand to spring the door open and finally all the doors were open and the princess was free.
After that, the princess and the queen dressed in their finest and went out into the kingdom of the wicked king.
There the queen and princess told the common people who they were.
Finally the two women asked the people whether they would be willing to make the wife and the daughter of the Jolly king as their rulers. “There shall be no more misery in the kingdom, only happiness everywhere.”
The people around wanted this and gladly agreed to make the princess and the queen as their rulers.
The two of them ruled the kingdom fine and well and people there were happy and well.
Finally when the time was right, the fairy used her flying chariot and found the best prince for Princess Delicia.
The prince and princess married each other and were very happy.
The queen then felt that all their days of misfortune were behind them and all of them lived happily ever after.
