The Two Brothers and the Mallet - Part Three

Kane was very tired and fell fast asleep as soon as he lay down on the field near a big stone. Kane had a very strange dream.

In his dream, a group of children came into the field and they laughed and played with each other. The children sat down in a ring. Finally, one of the eldest of the boys who seemed about fourteen or fifteen years old came close to the place where kane was asleep. The boy then lifted a big stone and he took out a small wooden mallet that was hidden under the ground.

Kane continued to dream as he saw the big boy take the mallet and sit back in the ring of children.

“What would you like the mallet to bring you?” The boy asked the children.

The first little boy answered. “A kite.”

The big boy shook the mallet and a beautiful kite appeared before the little boy.

Soon the children had plenty of wishes and the big boy was able to create a battledore, a doll, and even the collection of books with all the stories in the word appeared in the field around the children. All this was created using the mallet.

The children stayed in the field for some more time and Kane continued with his dreaming.

However, after some time the children got tired.

The big boy then hid the mallet under the stone and all the children disappeared from there.

Kane woke up abruptly from his dream and he wondered what he had seen

He found the stone exactly the way he had seen in his dream.

He removed the stone and was shocked to find a mallet there.
