Gunasarma arrived at the next kingdom and there he saw a rich man called Agnidatta. Agnidatta was also the chief of a village in the kingdom and looking at Gunasarma, Agnidatta suddenly felt that this was no ordinary man and felt an urge to protect him.
Agnidatta invited Gunasarma to stay with him.
There Gunasarma told Agnidatta, his entire life story including his parents and all about King Mahesena and Queen Asokavati.
Agnidatta was thinking after he heard everything that Gunasarma said and realized that Gunasarma had been targeted by the queen and he had not done anything wrong.
Gunasarma felt that such a man would be perfect for his own beautiful daughter whose name was Sundari and Agnidatta paid no heed to the rumours spread by Queen Asokavati.
That was when Gunasarma came to know that Agnidatta knew the way to properly perform penance towards Lord Karthikeya, who is the son of Lord Shiva.
Gunasarma devotedly learnt the method from Agnidatta and through this time, Sundari fell in love with Gunasarma too.
Gunasarma completely forgot all about Sundari for some time and focused his attention on winning the grace of Lord Karthikeya.
Karthikeya was so happy with Gunasarma's penance that he blessed Gunasarma to have inexhaustible treasure and that he would always be victorious.
It is after getting this boom that Gunasarma married Sundari.
Soon after that, as per the boon of Lord Karthikeya, Gunasarma was blessed with plenty of money. Using the money Gunasarma hired a huge army and then marched towards Ujjain.
He defeated King Mahasena and declared himself the king of Ujjain.
He and Sundari ruled Ujjaini after that and they both lived happily as the royal couple.
