The Warthog and the Elephant - Part Two

Soon the day came when the elephant had promised to return the tusks to the warthog.

The warthog waited for the elephant to come from sunrise to sunset. But the elephant was nowhere to be seen.

Finally, the warthog found the elephant uprooting a tree in another part of the forest. “Where is my tusk? Return it back to me. You promised to hand it over after your work was over.”

The elephant shrugged. “Sorry! I like my long tusks and I am not going to return it.”

Warthog was dismayed, but he did not know what to do.  “You have deceived me!”

The elephant did not care as the warthog screamed. “You will always wander far and wide in the grasslands and not stay in one place from today and we will never be friends after this.”

The elephant did not mind this and simply walked away.

However the warthog was embarrassed because he did not want to show himself with the short tusks before others.

He tried to stay away from the sight of other animals.

He went to consult the pangolin about his problem.

The pangolin offered the warthog a place in his burrow.

Since that day elephants never stayed in the same place and kept wandering and the warthog lived in the burrows of pangolins.
